Update of the projects of the Austral Industry Meetings 2010

LA RUTA DE LA LUNA
(Moon Route)

ECUADOR / PANAMA

The project received the first price at the Coproduction Forum of AIM, Austral Industry Meetings, consisting in film postproduction at Villa del Cine, Venezuela. Venezuela’s involvement in the project was useful in obtaining the Ibermedia Fund for production, with which the picture was filmed. After its run in Valdivia, the project featured at the Puentes workshop in Gijón, and received the support of the Global Film Initiative, an institution that partners with AUSTRALAB. The La Ruta de la Luna project is currently in postproduction.

CHILE

The project was recipient of the award presented by the Script development fund at Festival de Amiens, as part of the activities of the Austral Industry Meetings; the award consisted in an automatic invitation to the Script development fund at said festival, including airfare and lodging. Thus, the project participated in that French platform, obtaining a €10,000 award to write the script. The project is coproduced by Mômerade, a French independent film producer. After its participation at AIM, the project was selected at Torino Film Lab, Binger Filmlab and the Puentes workshop at BAFICI.

MEXICO

After featuring in AIM –Austral Industry Meetings–, the project was selected at BAL in BAFICI, as part of the Puentes workshop. It obtained the Huber Bals fund for digital production, and signed a coproduction agreement with Colombian company Burning Blue, present at AUSTRALAB, as well as a sales agreement with Caracol TV, also from Colombia. Filming is set for September, this year.

PERDON MAMA
(Sorry Mom)

After featuring in AIM -Austral Industry Meetings-, the project obtained the Fund for feature film production of the Chilean film institute and was presented at Fond Sud with a French coproducer, present at the Coproduction Forum of AIM, at AUSTRALAB.

After featuring in AIM -Austral Industry Meetings-, the project went on to the Puentes workshops 2011 and the script lab in Oaxaca, Mexico. It signed for coproduction with CEPA Cine, an Argentinean company present at the Austral Industry Meetings, AUSTRALAB.

After featuring in AIM -Austral Industry Meetings-, the project was selected to participate in the Script development fund at the Festival de Amiens, with whom AUSTRALAB began collaborating in 2010. It was also awarded the Colombian Fund for film development.

The project received the award granted by the TYPA foundation at Austral Industry Meetings, consisting in an automatic invitation to participate at Fundación TYPA’s Colon workshop, including transportation expenses. It has also closed a coproduction agreement with El Remanso Cine, Chile, a company also present at the 2010 Austral Industry Meetings, with a project of their own.

MATAR A UN HOMBRE
(To Kill a Man)

After featuring in AIM -Austral Industry Meetings- 2010, the project received the Feature film production fund of the Chilean film institute, and was selected at the 2011 Cinéma en Développement in Toulouse and at the 2011 Paris Project of the Paris Cinéma Festival.

LA MUJER DE BARRO
(The Woman of Mud)

After featuring in AIM -Austral Industry Meetings-, it was selected at the 2011 Encuentros de Cartagena. It has signed coproduction agreements with Bambú Cine (Argentina) and Expansión Ecosur (Venezuela). Currently, the project is in advanced talks with a Dutch coproducer and a French sales agent, both present at AUSTRALAB.

After featuring in AIM -Austral Industry Meetings-, the film was acquired by FIGA films, international sales company present in AUSTRALAB 2010. Later, it was selected at Cinema in Construction, in the Toulouse Film Festival, and currently, it is in the final postproduction stages.

ARGENTINA

After attending AIM -Austral Industry Meetings-, it was acquired by French sales agent Rendez-Vous Pictures. It was featured at Panorama in the Berlin Festival, receiving the Teddy Award for Best homosexual theme picture. Among other acquisitions, the film was also purchased by French distributor Bodega Films.
